About

Eric Mathews, MD

Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unfocused? Whether it’s anxiety keeping you up at night, depression draining your motivation, or attention challenges disrupting your daily life, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m a California-licensed psychiatrist providing thoughtful, evidence-based care for adults facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and major life transitions. My clinical work is grounded in science—and shaped by over a decade of experience in global human rights and trauma advocacy. Before entering medicine, I led investigations into psychiatric hospitals and institutions around the world, working to expose abuse and restore dignity to people failed by the systems meant to protect them. I bring that same empathy, commitment to justice, and healing focus into my psychiatric practice today. I offer comprehensive evaluation and medication management for adults seeking clarity, relief, and lasting mental well-being. This practice is designed for privacy, flexibility, and access—no insurance restrictions, no long waitlists. Just meaningful care that meets you where you are. All sessions are conducted via secure video telepsychiatry. If you're looking for a psychiatrist who listens deeply, respects your lived experience, and works collaboratively to help you move forward—reach out. I’d be honored to work with you.
